Making the residence permit application through the wrong websites/intermediary firms’ website:
Residence permit applications must be made on the official website of the Directorate of Migration Management (https://e-ikamet.goc.gov.tr/ ).
In this regard, please do not take into account the websites of intermediary companies whose websites are similar/imitating to the website of the Directorate of Migration Management.
Incorrect entry of personal information in the application form:
When submitting your application, it is important that your identity information and contact addresses are up-to-date and accurate.
Otherwise, your process may be prolonged and you may not be aware of the information provided by the Directorate of Migration Management.
In this case, you can correct your information by revising your form, canceling your application and creating a new application, or by writing a petition on the subject while submitting your documents to our university.
Applying for a student residence permit after freezing registration/graduation:
Student residence permit is a type of residence permit that only students with active enrollment can benefit from.
Your student residence permit will be canceled from the date you freeze registration/ graduate, regardless of the expiry date written on your residence card.
If you are experiencing any of the two situations, you will need to apply for a "Short Term Residence Permit".
Trying to make an Extension Application at an unnecessarily early date:
You can make an "Application for Extension" through the e-ikamet system as of 2 months before your residence permit expires and you should apply before the expiration date.
Example: If your residence permit ends on 30 September 2020, you can apply for an extension as of 30 July 2020.
To apply with a passport that is about to expire or with a short-term health insurance:
If you want your residence permit to be approved/issued for the duration of your request, you must have a passport or a travel document substituting a passport for at least 60 days longer than the requested residence permit.
However, your insurance period must cover the duration of requested residence permit time.
Example: If you are requesting a 2-year residence permit, you must have a passport with 2 years + 60 days validity date and an insurance long enough to cover your 2-year stay.
Submitting the residence permit documents to the appointment place specified on the date of appointment in the application form:
Since the residence permit procedures of international students are carried out by their universities, you have to submit your documents to our university, regardless of your appointment date and time, after making your application through the e-ikamet system.
